“Two months after the program, I’ve lost 18 pounds. I’ve also lost the craving for sugar and carbs. And I no longer have post-nasal drip, which was chronic before doing this program. Maybe the best part of all is that I’m consistently able to make more mindful food choices paying attention to my thoughts, feelings and to what my body really needs. Cheryl is knowledgeable, has a keen sense of humor and a wonderful way of making healthy eating come together in the context of modern life.”

About Cheryl Berkowitz, CHHC

Certified Holistic Health Counselor

My Passion for Working with You

I have worked as a Certified Holistic Health Counselor coaching women for 15 years. I see clients in private practice, teach workshops, and facilitate groups. I have taught in Omega Institute's Rest and Rejuvenation program and have offered one-on-one sessions at Omega's Wellness Center in Rhinebeck, NY. I have run seasonal cleanse programs for many years and have a specialization in helping women maintain or restore optimal bone health naturally.

As a core underpinning, I have a deep commitment to supporting women to live our best lives in health, vitality and authentic expression.

Currently, I am especially passionate about empowering women to create work lives true to our hearts' desires. This is about recognizing the inklings of the unique soul that you are; knowing what you value and yearn for in your heart; recognizing the gifts that are naturally yours; putting joy front and center; becoming aware of unhelpful conditioning, self-limiting beliefs and whatever else stands in your way to courageously move towards creating a life that's a deeper and more fulfilling expression of you. I call this coaching program Live Your Authentic Life.

Of course, I went on this journey in my own life.

For many years I tried to create a work life I loved that was authentic to who I am and how I most enjoy living. During some of these years, I knew that the work I was doing, while rewarding and helpful to many people, was a shadow of the fuller expression I felt myself moving towards, even though I didn't quite understand what it would look like. Or sometimes, when I caught a glimpse of it, my self-doubt and not-enoughness feelings caught me off guard to deflate me.

This has been an ongoing process of expansion and insight. In this process, I became acutely aware of an underlying fear-based pattern of self-constraint, both emotional and physical, that I adopted in childhood as a safety mechanism. The vulnerability I recognized underlying this pattern took me by surprise. It took some time to see it clearly, to face it, and to feel it. But when I finally did, I recognized that it no longer matched who I actually understood myself to be, and I was able to begin releasing the constraint. This was a complete game changer because what I was left with was improved digestion, my fear unmasked, and the unstoppable potential of my soul. In my personal journey, there have been, of course, many stumbles along with revelations about deeply ingrained conditioning, familial and societal. The upshot of this growth process has been more clarity, more self-compassion, more creativity, more courage, more service.

During one long night of being unable to sleep, tossing and turning and moiling about my work life, I suddenly had a breakthrough at 4:30am. I watched as my fear rose up, and then I watched as my courage rose up to a point of no-return. Then I knew I could only do what was mine to do.

I would really love to help you in your discovery process of what is yours to do and to embrace it with your passion for what's truly possible for you and your life.
